Narrative:
After landing at ZZZ, we were instructed to taxi to gate xx via the taxiway B. Upon approaching the air carrier controled alley on the east side of the concourse, we were instructed to enter the alley and taxi to gate xx via the west lead-in line following an air carrier B757 which was inbound to a gate. We began to enter the alley at a distance which was close behind the B757, yet far enough behind it to be prudent regarding potential jet blast. We were operating with anti-collision beacons on top and bottom of aircraft, navigation lights, the tail logo lights, and we believe that we had the taxi light on. Entering the alley, our speed was approximately 5 mph and was limited by the progress of the B757. Shortly after crossing the ground vehicle access road, while directly abeam the emb parked at gate xx, first officer alerted me to a maintenance van which had rapidly broken the plane of our right wing approaching from the right, behind the cockpit. I applied the brakes immediately. The right wing of the aircraft and side of the van made contact on the right leading edge of the aircraft approximately 2 ft from the fuselage. The van also came into contact with several vortillons. The van was never in sight of the captain, and was only in sight of the first officer. A slight vibration was felt on the aircraft. The flight attendant was asked to stand by to evacuate/evacuation the aircraft as we investigated the severity of the damage. Ramp control was instructed to call crash fire rescue equipment. The parking brake was set immediately and #1 engine shut down. #2 was previously secured. The flight attendant surveyed the cabin for passenger injuries. None were noted. Most passenger were unaware of the contact. Many company personnel responded -- and rapidly. ZZZ ramp manager, as well as a sea of field service clerks and supervisors were on the scene rendering assistance before the fire department could respond. After instructing ground personnel to form a secure corridor of ground personnel between our aircraft and the terminal, we briefed and deplaned our passenger. I remained at the helm to coordination as our flight attendant and first officer conducted an orderly evacuate/evacuation via stairs. The driver of the van was uninjured, and made contact with myself and other company personnel to apologize for his actions.

Title: A MAINT VAN STRUCK AN EMJ R WING LEADING EDGE WHILE THE ACFT WAS TAXIING TOWARD ITS GATE IN A CRAMPED ALLEY.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG AT ZZZ, WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI TO GATE XX VIA THE TXWY B. UPON APCHING THE ACR CTLED ALLEY ON THE E SIDE OF THE CONCOURSE, WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO ENTER THE ALLEY AND TAXI TO GATE XX VIA THE W LEAD-IN LINE FOLLOWING AN ACR B757 WHICH WAS INBOUND TO A GATE. WE BEGAN TO ENTER THE ALLEY AT A DISTANCE WHICH WAS CLOSE BEHIND THE B757, YET FAR ENOUGH BEHIND IT TO BE PRUDENT REGARDING POTENTIAL JET BLAST. WE WERE OPERATING WITH ANTI-COLLISION BEACONS ON TOP AND BOTTOM OF ACFT, NAV LIGHTS, THE TAIL LOGO LIGHTS, AND WE BELIEVE THAT WE HAD THE TAXI LIGHT ON. ENTERING THE ALLEY, OUR SPD WAS APPROX 5 MPH AND WAS LIMITED BY THE PROGRESS OF THE B757. SHORTLY AFTER XING THE GND VEHICLE ACCESS ROAD, WHILE DIRECTLY ABEAM THE EMB PARKED AT GATE XX, FO ALERTED ME TO A MAINT VAN WHICH HAD RAPIDLY BROKEN THE PLANE OF OUR R WING APCHING FROM THE R, BEHIND THE COCKPIT. I APPLIED THE BRAKES IMMEDIATELY. THE R WING OF THE ACFT AND SIDE OF THE VAN MADE CONTACT ON THE R LEADING EDGE OF THE ACFT APPROX 2 FT FROM THE FUSELAGE. THE VAN ALSO CAME INTO CONTACT WITH SEVERAL VORTILLONS. THE VAN WAS NEVER IN SIGHT OF THE CAPT, AND WAS ONLY IN SIGHT OF THE FO. A SLIGHT VIBRATION WAS FELT ON THE ACFT. THE FLT ATTENDANT WAS ASKED TO STAND BY TO EVAC THE ACFT AS WE INVESTIGATED THE SEVERITY OF THE DAMAGE. RAMP CTL WAS INSTRUCTED TO CALL CFR. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS SET IMMEDIATELY AND #1 ENG SHUT DOWN. #2 WAS PREVIOUSLY SECURED. THE FLT ATTENDANT SURVEYED THE CABIN FOR PAX INJURIES. NONE WERE NOTED. MOST PAX WERE UNAWARE OF THE CONTACT. MANY COMPANY PERSONNEL RESPONDED -- AND RAPIDLY. ZZZ RAMP MGR, AS WELL AS A SEA OF FIELD SVC CLERKS AND SUPVRS WERE ON THE SCENE RENDERING ASSISTANCE BEFORE THE FIRE DEPT COULD RESPOND. AFTER INSTRUCTING GND PERSONNEL TO FORM A SECURE CORRIDOR OF GND PERSONNEL BTWN OUR ACFT AND THE TERMINAL, WE BRIEFED AND DEPLANED OUR PAX. I REMAINED AT THE HELM TO COORD AS OUR FLT ATTENDANT AND FO CONDUCTED AN ORDERLY EVAC VIA STAIRS. THE DRIVER OF THE VAN WAS UNINJURED, AND MADE CONTACT WITH MYSELF AND OTHER COMPANY PERSONNEL TO APOLOGIZE FOR HIS ACTIONS.
