Narrative:
Turning final on approach to runway 13R at dal over the mix master at about 2030 ft; I was distraction by a very intense; rapidly flashing white light that lasted about 5 seconds or less. There was no blindness or other problems associated with the light other than the distraction and a temporary 'fuzzy' feeling in my left eye. My vision did not seem to be impaired other than the strange feeling in my left eye. My first officer did not notice the light; probably because we were in a left turn and he was belly up to the source of the light. I did not report the incident to tower at the time. The source area for the light appeared to come from just southwest of the mix master and north of the cve VOR in a warehouse district.

MY VISION DID NOT SEEM TO BE IMPAIRED OTHER THAN THE STRANGE FEELING IN MY L EYE. MY FO DID NOT NOTICE THE LIGHT; PROBABLY BECAUSE WE WERE IN A L TURN AND HE WAS BELLY UP TO THE SOURCE OF THE LIGHT. I DID NOT RPT THE INCIDENT TO TWR AT THE TIME. THE SOURCE AREA FOR THE LIGHT APPEARED TO COME FROM JUST SW OF THE MIX MASTER AND N OF THE CVE VOR IN A WAREHOUSE DISTRICT.
