Narrative:
I installed the left aft escape slide for a time change on feb/thu/05. Aircraft records found that the wrong part number was installed. Corrective action was taken to replace with correct slide in ZZZ1. I originally installed the aft slide in reference to work card X. While taking the slide from stores; the slide was idented as aft left/right and also idented with B737-700/800/900. I should have doublechked the effectivity with the ipc. The work card did not mention this and the parts tag and slide were marked B737-700/800/900 with no specific effectivity to aircraft.
