Narrative:
Iah departing on runway 15 with tailwind. Clearance to taxi to runway 15L. Taxied aircraft in ww hold pad to compute numbers for runway 15L. When ready; contacted tower and advised cleared to cross runway 15L; hold short of runway 15R. Started to cross the hold short line; nose over by maybe 10 ft. Aircraft crossed over and in front of nose of our aircraft. Believe it was an aerostar. Because of our position in the ww hold pad; we were facing toward the southwest away from the final when we started to move up. Could not see final clear until starting turn back on line up strip for the numbers. Could not and did not see propeller aircraft until he was by front of aircraft. Was not close to hitting our aircraft; but if I were faster on the taxi across or if aircraft landing on runway 15L was large; aircraft wold have been closer. Advised tower aircraft crossed in front of us and landed on runway 15L. Tower's comment was he thought the runway 15L was closed. Do not know if aerostar landed on wrong runway or what.

Title: MD80 FLT CREW EXPERIENCED CONFLICT AT IAH WHEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 15L AND OBSERVED LNDG TFC PASS IN FRONT AFTER PASSING HOLD LINE.
Narrative: IAH DEPARTING ON RWY 15 WITH TAILWIND. CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 15L. TAXIED ACFT IN WW HOLD PAD TO COMPUTE NUMBERS FOR RWY 15L. WHEN READY; CONTACTED TWR AND ADVISED CLRED TO CROSS RWY 15L; HOLD SHORT OF RWY 15R. STARTED TO CROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE; NOSE OVER BY MAYBE 10 FT. ACFT CROSSED OVER AND IN FRONT OF NOSE OF OUR ACFT. BELIEVE IT WAS AN AEROSTAR. BECAUSE OF OUR POS IN THE WW HOLD PAD; WE WERE FACING TOWARD THE SW AWAY FROM THE FINAL WHEN WE STARTED TO MOVE UP. COULD NOT SEE FINAL CLR UNTIL STARTING TURN BACK ON LINE UP STRIP FOR THE NUMBERS. COULD NOT AND DID NOT SEE PROP ACFT UNTIL HE WAS BY FRONT OF ACFT. WAS NOT CLOSE TO HITTING OUR ACFT; BUT IF I WERE FASTER ON THE TAXI ACROSS OR IF ACFT LNDG ON RWY 15L WAS LARGE; ACFT WOLD HAVE BEEN CLOSER. ADVISED TWR ACFT CROSSED IN FRONT OF US AND LANDED ON RWY 15L. TWR'S COMMENT WAS HE THOUGHT THE RWY 15L WAS CLOSED. DO NOT KNOW IF AEROSTAR LANDED ON WRONG RWY OR WHAT.
