Narrative:
While being radar vectored and climbing to assigned altitude 11000 ft; we encountered severe turbulence and the autoplt kicked off. As I regained control of the aircraft. The tcasi gave a 'traffic; traffic' audible warning. The conflict traffic was to my left at +500 ft and descending. I immediately banked hard right and climbed to avoid collision. Center was calling multiple times and when the conflict was past we resumed the assigned vectors and responded to the radio calls. The controller instructed us to call his phone number when we landed; which we did.

Narrative: WHILE BEING RADAR VECTORED AND CLBING TO ASSIGNED ALT 11000 FT; WE ENCOUNTERED SEVERE TURB AND THE AUTOPLT KICKED OFF. AS I REGAINED CTL OF THE ACFT. THE TCASI GAVE A 'TFC; TFC' AUDIBLE WARNING. THE CONFLICT TFC WAS TO MY L AT +500 FT AND DSNDING. I IMMEDIATELY BANKED HARD R AND CLBED TO AVOID COLLISION.
