Narrative:
While departing rdu with 1 air conditioning pack inoperative; we experienced an overload on our only remaining air conditioning pack. The cabin altitude began to climb slowly. We were climbing through FL200 on our way to FL230. We requested a descent clearance to 10000 ft. The controller cleared us to descend and maintain 10000 ft. Once we leveled off; we completed all appropriate checklists. We were able to reset the overloaded air conditioning pack. Once we regained full control of our pressurization; we requested a climb clearance. The controller cleared us to FL230. We continued the flight safely to ZZZ. The entire chain of events was started when the passenger complained of a warm cabin. We attempted to cool the cabin by going to manual mode on the air conditioning pack. This must have overloaded the air conditioning pack. We were able to reset it normally in the automatic mode.

Title: AN EMB135 AT FL200 DISPATCHED WITH 1 AIR CONDITIONING PACK DEFERRED INOP AND ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE REMAINING PACK THE CABIN BEGAN TO CLB.
Narrative: WHILE DEPARTING RDU WITH 1 AIR CONDITIONING PACK INOP; WE EXPERIENCED AN OVERLOAD ON OUR ONLY REMAINING AIR CONDITIONING PACK. THE CABIN ALT BEGAN TO CLB SLOWLY. WE WERE CLBING THROUGH FL200 ON OUR WAY TO FL230. WE REQUESTED A DSCNT CLRNC TO 10000 FT. THE CTLR CLRED US TO DSND AND MAINTAIN 10000 FT. ONCE WE LEVELED OFF; WE COMPLETED ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS. WE WERE ABLE TO RESET THE OVERLOADED AIR CONDITIONING PACK. ONCE WE REGAINED FULL CTL OF OUR PRESSURIZATION; WE REQUESTED A CLB CLRNC. THE CTLR CLRED US TO FL230. WE CONTINUED THE FLT SAFELY TO ZZZ. THE ENTIRE CHAIN OF EVENTS WAS STARTED WHEN THE PAX COMPLAINED OF A WARM CABIN. WE ATTEMPTED TO COOL THE CABIN BY GOING TO MANUAL MODE ON THE AIR CONDITIONING PACK. THIS MUST HAVE OVERLOADED THE AIR CONDITIONING PACK. WE WERE ABLE TO RESET IT NORMALLY IN THE AUTO MODE.
