Narrative:
Owner/operator; mr X; informed me that during a training flight with a student pilot taking off from ZZZ municipal airport; the takeoff was aborted because engine was not developing sufficient power. Aircraft was returned to the ramp for inspection. Mechanic found the nut holding the throttle arm loose and the cotter pin missing. The last annual inspection was completed apr/wed/05 by myself and mr X -- also an a&P mechanic. The engine controls were inspected at that time including function.
