Narrative:

During a conversation with an FAA inspector investigating a ground interruption on aircraft X; she asked me; 'where is the damaged lock pin?' I then explained to her that I actually dressed the threads of the lockout pin to make the existing pin svcable to install it in the valve. I see now that I used inappropriate and confusing words in my sign off. The inspector recommended that I report this to clarify my sign off. I will take the time to choose the correct words when writing the corrective action taken in the future. There were no terminal gate available; the plane was loaded with passenger. The plane required refueling after our work was complete. The crew was concerned about their flight plan expiring.
