Narrative:
On may/mon/05 between XA00-XB00; we replaced the landing gear normal control unit because of a log write-up for landing gear control interface unit #1. Replacing this unit fixed the problem in accordance to maintenance manual 32-31-11 and bite test 32-69-00 on aircraft X. The required tests were performed through the cfds and required no gear swing. Because of no gear swing; I thought no rii inspection was required. The aircraft left ZZZ without the required rii per item #4 of the maintenance operations procedures. On may/tue/05 we contacted the station where the aircraft was parked and the item was inspected and documented.
