Narrative:
I was doing a work card that entailed opening and closing main landing gear doors. After performed maintenance; I closed the gear doors via the r-hand gear control panel (with safety bypass pins removed from l-hand and r-hand gear bypass module access panels). Then; with main landing gear doors up and locked; I stowed the pin in keeper and closed panel (r-hand). I had become sidetracked and the l-hand safety bypass module pin was hanging from inside panel and the door didn't get closed. (Apparently; another mechanic closed the panel.) the aircraft; ZZZ bound for ZZZ1; diverted to ZZZ2. Found l-hand safety bypass panel closed but the safety pin in bypass valve. I have had prior experience with closing this panel once -- the panel is hard to close with the pin in safety bypass module. Immediately reopened panel; stowed the pin in the keeper; and closed the panel. Recommend harder to close panel to acknowledge a problem.

Title: A B767-400 WAS DISPATCHED WITH THE L MAIN GEAR DOOR GND RELEASE LEVER PINNED IN THE OPEN POS. THE ACCESS DOOR WAS CLOSED. FLT DIVERTED.
Narrative: I WAS DOING A WORK CARD THAT ENTAILED OPENING AND CLOSING MAIN LNDG GEAR DOORS. AFTER PERFORMED MAINT; I CLOSED THE GEAR DOORS VIA THE R-HAND GEAR CTL PANEL (WITH SAFETY BYPASS PINS REMOVED FROM L-HAND AND R-HAND GEAR BYPASS MODULE ACCESS PANELS). THEN; WITH MAIN LNDG GEAR DOORS UP AND LOCKED; I STOWED THE PIN IN KEEPER AND CLOSED PANEL (R-HAND). I HAD BECOME SIDETRACKED AND THE L-HAND SAFETY BYPASS MODULE PIN WAS HANGING FROM INSIDE PANEL AND THE DOOR DIDN'T GET CLOSED. (APPARENTLY; ANOTHER MECH CLOSED THE PANEL.) THE ACFT; ZZZ BOUND FOR ZZZ1; DIVERTED TO ZZZ2. RECOMMEND HARDER TO CLOSE PANEL TO ACKNOWLEDGE A PROB.
