Narrative:
There is a jump area on V525 south of the ritzs intersection. This jump area is also listed in the AFD (ec). This can be found on the detroit sectional; just west of cak's airspace. The problem is; this jump area (at hilty field-private) rather conflicts with the following: V525 airway; wooster/wayne county (bjj) GPS runway 28 approach using gimmu intersection; wadsworth (3g3) RNAV (GPS) runway 2 approach; wadsworth (3g3) RNAV (GPS) runway 20 missed approach. Granted the apches will be covered by cak radar (approach) during MVFR and IMC. But for the amount of flight training that is going on in the area; during VMC conditions; this is a problem. Prior to a jump; either the hilty field or the jump aircraft makes an announcement on 122.8 (unicom for 3g3 and bjj). I would assume that they also make the same announcement on 123.05 (15G-weltzien sky park). The problem with this announcement is it appears to be automated; if you attempt to contact them there is no answer. Transient aircraft will have no idea what is going on as fast as this announcement is made. This particular activity needs to be covered by NOTAM in my opinion. This is so that when they (hilty field jumpers) are active; it will be brought to the attention of pilots getting a briefing . It is not pleasant to depart 3g3 or bjj and contact cak approach as you depart the pattern to be told; '12345 make an immediate turn to XXX degrees. And; uh; radar contact 12345.' I happen to live in the area; fly to and from bjj and 3g3. Yet unless you are on one of their broadcast frequencys; you won't know that they are active unless you get an alert from cle or cak approach. Additional information: there is a landmark in the area called the salt shaker. This is a point that 15G pilots are taught to look for and fly over when coming back to sky park. When coming from the briggs VOR; these students will fly right into this jump area. This jump area is also at a 'choke point' where aircraft are setting up to pass between the cak and cle airspaces. It seems to me that FAA needs to change the procedures in this area for safety reasons to require a NOTAM change to be filed when the jump area goes active so that pilots will know when the area is 'hot.' callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that because of the amount of VFR and IMC traffic in this area; greater vigilance is required. Transient pilots may not know about the jump area if not receiving flight following or monitoring the unicoms. Reporter also stated that the jumpers will go as high as 14000 ft over ritzs intersection under cleveland's watch. IFR aircraft on the keatn two arrival to cle expecting to cross at 10000 ft. The problem arises with VFR aircraft.

Title: A PLT NOTES THAT WHEN VMC THE HILTY JUMP AREA CONFLICTS WITH V525; AND SEVERAL AREA APCHES; INCLUDING; POSSIBLY; THE CLE 10-2A ARR.
Narrative: THERE IS A JUMP AREA ON V525 S OF THE RITZS INTXN. THIS JUMP AREA IS ALSO LISTED IN THE AFD (EC). THIS CAN BE FOUND ON THE DETROIT SECTIONAL; JUST W OF CAK'S AIRSPACE. THE PROB IS; THIS JUMP AREA (AT HILTY FIELD-PVT) RATHER CONFLICTS WITH THE FOLLOWING: V525 AIRWAY; WOOSTER/WAYNE COUNTY (BJJ) GPS RWY 28 APCH USING GIMMU INTXN; WADSWORTH (3G3) RNAV (GPS) RWY 2 APCH; WADSWORTH (3G3) RNAV (GPS) RWY 20 MISSED APCH. GRANTED THE APCHES WILL BE COVERED BY CAK RADAR (APCH) DURING MVFR AND IMC. BUT FOR THE AMOUNT OF FLT TRAINING THAT IS GOING ON IN THE AREA; DURING VMC CONDITIONS; THIS IS A PROB. PRIOR TO A JUMP; EITHER THE HILTY FIELD OR THE JUMP ACFT MAKES AN ANNOUNCEMENT ON 122.8 (UNICOM FOR 3G3 AND BJJ). I WOULD ASSUME THAT THEY ALSO MAKE THE SAME ANNOUNCEMENT ON 123.05 (15G-WELTZIEN SKY PARK). THE PROB WITH THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS IT APPEARS TO BE AUTOMATED; IF YOU ATTEMPT TO CONTACT THEM THERE IS NO ANSWER. TRANSIENT ACFT WILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON AS FAST AS THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS MADE. THIS PARTICULAR ACTIVITY NEEDS TO BE COVERED BY NOTAM IN MY OPINION. THIS IS SO THAT WHEN THEY (HILTY FIELD JUMPERS) ARE ACTIVE; IT WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF PLTS GETTING A BRIEFING . IT IS NOT PLEASANT TO DEPART 3G3 OR BJJ AND CONTACT CAK APCH AS YOU DEPART THE PATTERN TO BE TOLD; '12345 MAKE AN IMMEDIATE TURN TO XXX DEGS. AND; UH; RADAR CONTACT 12345.' I HAPPEN TO LIVE IN THE AREA; FLY TO AND FROM BJJ AND 3G3. YET UNLESS YOU ARE ON ONE OF THEIR BROADCAST FREQS; YOU WON'T KNOW THAT THEY ARE ACTIVE UNLESS YOU GET AN ALERT FROM CLE OR CAK APCH. ADDITIONAL INFO: THERE IS A LANDMARK IN THE AREA CALLED THE SALT SHAKER. THIS IS A POINT THAT 15G PLTS ARE TAUGHT TO LOOK FOR AND FLY OVER WHEN COMING BACK TO SKY PARK. WHEN COMING FROM THE BRIGGS VOR; THESE STUDENTS WILL FLY RIGHT INTO THIS JUMP AREA. THIS JUMP AREA IS ALSO AT A 'CHOKE POINT' WHERE ACFT ARE SETTING UP TO PASS BETWEEN THE CAK AND CLE AIRSPACES. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT FAA NEEDS TO CHANGE THE PROCS IN THIS AREA FOR SAFETY REASONS TO REQUIRE A NOTAM CHANGE TO BE FILED WHEN THE JUMP AREA GOES ACTIVE SO THAT PLTS WILL KNOW WHEN THE AREA IS 'HOT.' CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF VFR AND IMC TFC IN THIS AREA; GREATER VIGILANCE IS REQUIRED. TRANSIENT PLTS MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT THE JUMP AREA IF NOT RECEIVING FLT FOLLOWING OR MONITORING THE UNICOMS. RPTR ALSO STATED THAT THE JUMPERS WILL GO AS HIGH AS 14000 FT OVER RITZS INTXN UNDER CLEVELAND'S WATCH. IFR ACFT ON THE KEATN TWO ARR TO CLE EXPECTING TO CROSS AT 10000 FT. THE PROB ARISES WITH VFR ACFT.
