Narrative:

While executing the lda prm approach to runway 28R in sfo and while monitoring 127.67 during the approach; there were several xmissions to other aircraft not related to the approach on 127.67 while our controller was talking to us on 128.05. Contacted the tower supervisor upon landing and he explained that the tower is always transmitting on 4 frequencys at the same time; including 127.67. It is impossible to listen to your assigned frequency while they are transmitting to you and to monitor all these other communications not related to your approach going on; on 127.67. The 127.67 frequency should be used exclusively for traffic alerts and directions; not for formal traffic.
