Narrative:

Engineering authority/authorized revision B; steps 1 and 7; require the installation and removal of landing gear door locks which were previously complied with. I had signed off these steps without a note; indicating these steps had been complied with. The XXX gmm does not allow the use of 'previously complied with' unless the engineering authority/authorized specifies its use. No non routine was generated to indicate the steps were previously complied with. The aircraft was dispatched with the left main landing gear door bypass pin installed. After departure; the flight crew received a gear door warning and felt a slight vibration. Aircraft diverted to ZZZ where the gear door was found open and the bypass pin installed.
