Narrative:

It has recently come to my attention that there is some discrepancy as to the dialog and course of action that took place regarding a mechanical issue on flight XXX-YYY. I received a call from XXX operations requesting radio patch to flight number. Captain stated that when they took the active and throttled up; they got the #1 engine control light on steady. They had taxied off the runway and asked for guidance. After advising maintenance control of the situation as I understood it from captain; I relayed message to shut down engine and restart. If light did not extinguish; instructions were to return to gate. After a few mins; captain confirmed light out. He asked if anything needed to be written up. Again; referenced maintenance control whose answer was no. Later on; I read an ACARS very casual message regarding WX deviation and thanks for help; then another ACARS as to whether or not they needed maintenance in YYY. I confirmed no additional problems and then set up through maintenance control for a mechanic to meet aircraft on arrival and perform bite check. At no time during any conversation (via radio or ACARS) was I made aware of the aborted takeoff at 60 KTS or the captain's concern regarding logbook entry.
