Narrative:
A line maintenance coordinator called for 2 MEL's; one of which was 73-5 'engine fuel filter bypass light.' a repetitive maintenance inspection is required prior to each departure as per the MEL. It was very busy for everyone at the time and when I requested the log page number for the deferred item that we issue along with this MEL for tracking purposes; the coordinator said he would call back with all information. When he called back I was busy with something else and the deferred item window was shrunk down and was masked up pending the requested information for the deferred item.. We completed the issuance of the MEL's and being 'out of sight; out of mind' plus my memory wasn't triggered by the log page number I was expecting. This was just one of the contributing factors that caused me to forget to issue the tracking deferred item. I returned the aircraft to service and it flew to ZZZ1 and back without having the inspection performed. I did facsimile the inspection criteria; but the material was inadvertently discarded by someone. I was notified by maintenance that the crew had informed them of the mishap. I had ZZZ perform the inspection and issued the tracking.

THIS WAS JUST ONE OF THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS THAT CAUSED ME TO FORGET TO ISSUE THE TRACKING DEFERRED ITEM. I RETURNED THE ACFT TO SVC AND IT FLEW TO ZZZ1 AND BACK WITHOUT HAVING THE INSPECTION PERFORMED. I DID FAX THE INSPECTION CRITERIA; BUT THE MATERIAL WAS INADVERTENTLY DISCARDED BY SOMEONE. I WAS NOTIFIED BY MAINT THAT THE CREW HAD INFORMED THEM OF THE MISHAP. I HAD ZZZ PERFORM THE INSPECTION AND ISSUED THE TRACKING.
