Narrative:

I obtained my IFR clearance and awaited release. When released; I switched to CTAF on 123.07 and announced my departure on runway 14. No traffic was heard or observed in the vicinity of the airport. After a normal takeoff; I attempted to depart on my assigned heading of 150 degrees. At approximately 200 ft AGL; I noticed 1 or 2 military helicopters on a collision path from west to east near the shoreline. I immediately initiated evasive action by turning to an approximately 090 degree heading. I do not believe the other pilots saw me or were monitoring CTAF. I switched to departure to advise I was unable to head 150 degrees; and was headed 090 degrees; and advised the reason was for traffic avoidance. The controller was not speaking with the helicopters and asked if they had been talking on CTAF. I replied negative. I don't think the other crew ever saw me; or at least not until I banked to void them.

Title: BE20 PLT EXPERIENCES NMAC IFR ON DEP FROM DTS.

Narrative: I OBTAINED MY IFR CLRNC AND AWAITED RELEASE. WHEN RELEASED; I SWITCHED TO CTAF ON 123.07 AND ANNOUNCED MY DEP ON RWY 14. NO TFC WAS HEARD OR OBSERVED IN THE VICINITY OF THE ARPT. AFTER A NORMAL TKOF; I ATTEMPTED TO DEPART ON MY ASSIGNED HDG OF 150 DEGS. AT APPROX 200 FT AGL; I NOTICED 1 OR 2 MIL HELIS ON A COLLISION PATH FROM W TO E NEAR THE SHORELINE. I IMMEDIATELY INITIATED EVASIVE ACTION BY TURNING TO AN APPROX 090 DEG HDG. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE OTHER PLTS SAW ME OR WERE MONITORING CTAF. I SWITCHED TO DEP TO ADVISE I WAS UNABLE TO HEAD 150 DEGS; AND WAS HEADED 090 DEGS; AND ADVISED THE REASON WAS FOR TFC AVOIDANCE. THE CTLR WAS NOT SPEAKING WITH THE HELIS AND ASKED IF THEY HAD BEEN TALKING ON CTAF. I REPLIED NEGATIVE. I DON'T THINK THE OTHER CREW EVER SAW ME; OR AT LEAST NOT UNTIL I BANKED TO VOID THEM.
