Narrative:
Got a call from ramp just after airborne asking if we were airborne yet. After answering 'yes;' they said the passenger count was inaccurate. They relayed new numbers that included approximately 20 passenger. That increased our weight by nearly 4000 pounds. I asked the flight attendants to confirm the count and the crew numbers were accurate. Normally; I have not had the flight attendants back up the agent with the count.
