Narrative:
Aircraft #1 overflt at 8000 ft. Aircraft #2 and #3 arrs enter at 10000 ft. I was the recently relieved controller at this position. During the traffic portion of my briefing; I descended the first arrival to 9000 ft and said 'I'll let you take him through that aircraft at 8000 ft' and physically pointed at the overflt (aircraft #1). A few xmissions after I had completed my relief briefing and left the area; the relieving controller descended both arrs through the protected airspace of the overflt. Lack of situational awareness contributed to this occurrence.

Title: MKC TRACON CTLR CHRONICLES OPERROR AFTER POS BRIEFING AS ALL TFC WAS REFED; BUT APPARENTLY NOT RECOGNIZED BY CTLR TAKING POS.
Narrative: ACFT #1 OVERFLT AT 8000 FT. ACFT #2 AND #3 ARRS ENTER AT 10000 FT. I WAS THE RECENTLY RELIEVED CTLR AT THIS POS. DURING THE TFC PORTION OF MY BRIEFING; I DSNDED THE FIRST ARR TO 9000 FT AND SAID 'I'LL LET YOU TAKE HIM THROUGH THAT ACFT AT 8000 FT' AND PHYSICALLY POINTED AT THE OVERFLT (ACFT #1). A FEW XMISSIONS AFTER I HAD COMPLETED MY RELIEF BRIEFING AND LEFT THE AREA; THE RELIEVING CTLR DSNDED BOTH ARRS THROUGH THE PROTECTED AIRSPACE OF THE OVERFLT. LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS CONTRIBUTED TO THIS OCCURRENCE.
