Narrative:

Problem arose as 2 aircraft believed that they had received IFR clearance to depart kahului; maui (ogg). Both aircraft taxied into position on intersecting runways and initiated takeoff rolls. Aircraft discovered the conflict on CTAF and I stopped my aircraft after approximately 500 ft to let the other aircraft continue their takeoff. I then taxied my aircraft back to the takeoff position and contacted ZHN to obtain a new clearance for takeoff. I subsequently took off 2 mins later.

Title: 2 DEPS FROM OGG; FROM INTERSECTING RWYS DURING NON TWR OPS; ARE RELEASED BY ZHN; BOTH BEGIN ROLL AND ONE EXECUTES ABORT.

Narrative: PROB AROSE AS 2 ACFT BELIEVED THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED IFR CLRNC TO DEPART KAHULUI; MAUI (OGG). BOTH ACFT TAXIED INTO POS ON INTERSECTING RWYS AND INITIATED TKOF ROLLS. ACFT DISCOVERED THE CONFLICT ON CTAF AND I STOPPED MY ACFT AFTER APPROX 500 FT TO LET THE OTHER ACFT CONTINUE THEIR TKOF. I THEN TAXIED MY ACFT BACK TO THE TKOF POS AND CONTACTED ZHN TO OBTAIN A NEW CLRNC FOR TKOF. I SUBSEQUENTLY TOOK OFF 2 MINS LATER.
