Narrative:
Flight xx; aircraft XXX arrived to gate at xa:44. Catering truck approached the aircraft using signalman and in the process of setting the stabilizer stations; truck moves to the front; hitting the aircraft fuselage; making a visible dent of approximately 1 square ft with a depth of .250 inches. As per maintenance instructions; in accordance with srm 53-00-01 and 53-00-00; inspected the surrounding area; even inside the fuselage; could not find any more damage. Subsequent inspection revealed damage exceeded limits due to damage discovered to frame.

Title: A CATERING TRUCK STRUCK A B737-700 AS THE STABILIZER STRUTS EXTENDED. INITIAL ESTIMATE OF DAMAGE WAS INCORRECT; DAMAGE HAD EXCEEDED MANUFACTURER LIMITS.
Narrative: FLT XX; ACFT XXX ARRIVED TO GATE AT XA:44. CATERING TRUCK APCHED THE ACFT USING SIGNALMAN AND IN THE PROCESS OF SETTING THE STABILIZER STATIONS; TRUCK MOVES TO THE FRONT; HITTING THE ACFT FUSELAGE; MAKING A VISIBLE DENT OF APPROX 1 SQUARE FT WITH A DEPTH OF .250 INCHES.
