Narrative:

I was VFR without instrument rating. Unintentionally got into IFR condition. Requested vectors for landing and landed without incident. VFR private pilot. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the pilot stated that he was en route to chapel hill; nc. The WX deteriorated at his destination to the point that he could not get into the airport VMC and there is no instrument approach. When he attempted to divert to rdu; only instrument approachs were being allowed. This pilot is approximately 10 hours from completing his instrument work and so had enough knowledge and experience to safely get into the airport.
