Narrative:
I was flying the delta 5 arrival to skbo. Autoplt was on; using flight level change and LNAV. We crossed waypoint delta at 14000 ft at 250 KTS. I began to slow to 200 KTS. We received clearance to 12000 ft. I began descent using flight level change setting speed to 200 KTS. Descent rate was less than 1000 FPM. We deviated around a small buildup to the north; approximately 2 mi deviation. LNAV track from delta to skbo was achieved. Throughout this time; we remained VMC; but we were headed to heavy rain over skbo. Confign to flaps 15 degrees was made. I was in the map mode with WX selected. 20 mi range. The first officer was in map with terrain selected. Bog VOR was OTS. The first officer had crosschecked the raw data from mqu as we proceeded to delta. The bog NDB was tuned and displayed on my rmdi. Approximately 5 mi prior to skbo; we received clearance for the NDB DME runway 13R approach. Almost simultaneously; we entered the heavy rain. We were still descending; and when passing 12200 ft; we received a 'caution terrain' egpws alert. I immediately executed an 'escape' maneuver. We climbed straight ahead; breaking out of the rain just east of skbo and leveled at 14000 ft. We were now VMC. We continued straight ahead till over skbo airport. Then following radar vectors made a r-hand visual pattern to the ILS runway 13L. We landed without further incident.

Title: A B757-200 CREW; DSNDING INTO SKBO; RECEIVED AN EGPWS 'CAUTION TERRAIN' WARNING AT 12000 FT MSL AND 2000 FT AGL. AN 'ESCAPE' MANEUVER WAS EXECUTED.
Narrative: I WAS FLYING THE DELTA 5 ARR TO SKBO. AUTOPLT WAS ON; USING FLT LEVEL CHANGE AND LNAV. WE CROSSED WAYPOINT DELTA AT 14000 FT AT 250 KTS. I BEGAN TO SLOW TO 200 KTS. WE RECEIVED CLRNC TO 12000 FT. I BEGAN DSCNT USING FLT LEVEL CHANGE SETTING SPD TO 200 KTS. DSCNT RATE WAS LESS THAN 1000 FPM. WE DEVIATED AROUND A SMALL BUILDUP TO THE N; APPROX 2 MI DEV. LNAV TRACK FROM DELTA TO SKBO WAS ACHIEVED. THROUGHOUT THIS TIME; WE REMAINED VMC; BUT WE WERE HEADED TO HVY RAIN OVER SKBO. CONFIGN TO FLAPS 15 DEGS WAS MADE. I WAS IN THE MAP MODE WITH WX SELECTED. 20 MI RANGE. THE FO WAS IN MAP WITH TERRAIN SELECTED. BOG VOR WAS OTS. THE FO HAD XCHKED THE RAW DATA FROM MQU AS WE PROCEEDED TO DELTA. THE BOG NDB WAS TUNED AND DISPLAYED ON MY RMDI. APPROX 5 MI PRIOR TO SKBO; WE RECEIVED CLRNC FOR THE NDB DME RWY 13R APCH. ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY; WE ENTERED THE HVY RAIN. WE WERE STILL DSNDING; AND WHEN PASSING 12200 FT; WE RECEIVED A 'CAUTION TERRAIN' EGPWS ALERT. I IMMEDIATELY EXECUTED AN 'ESCAPE' MANEUVER. WE CLBED STRAIGHT AHEAD; BREAKING OUT OF THE RAIN JUST E OF SKBO AND LEVELED AT 14000 FT. WE WERE NOW VMC. WE CONTINUED STRAIGHT AHEAD TILL OVER SKBO ARPT. THEN FOLLOWING RADAR VECTORS MADE A R-HAND VISUAL PATTERN TO THE ILS RWY 13L. WE LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
