Narrative:
Ramp department was on busy schedule. To the best of my recollection of the event; aircraft was boarded and ready for a pushback and maintenance coordinator request for a digital flight data recorder MEL to be cleared for a dispatch; I recalled for an overseas flight. I requested a part off from an ipc and part department brought a part over. Checked all the required information and installed the svcable part. Part did not correct the discrepancy; and aircraft was dispatched with MEL still open. Many weeks after; it was found that a part apparently with a wrong effectivity had been installed. To my recollection; the ipc has been checked and part was requested with an interchangeable part from the computer off the parts personnel. All parts tag pertinent information was correct and part was then installed in aircraft. To my knowledge; the part is good and svcable.

TO MY RECOLLECTION; THE IPC HAS BEEN CHKED AND PART WAS REQUESTED WITH AN INTERCHANGEABLE PART FROM THE COMPUTER OFF THE PARTS PERSONNEL.
