Narrative:
I was changing the uplock support bolt on l-hand main landing gear and had to drive it out with a rivet gun. The gun slipped and hit the casting that the walking beam attaches to. I damaged the corner of the casting approximately 1/8 inch. I slopped the damaged to approximately 2 inch curve burnished sanding marks and primed. I didn't/forgot to have inspection eddy current for cracks and to record in logbook. I later informed management and was informed it would be looked into. Inspection programmed for eddy current inspection. Management was informed about 3 weeks after incident.
