Narrative:

Numerous B757 aircraft have had headsets 'permanently' installed. The headsets are held in place with a loop of velcro. On those with overhead headset jacks; the bundled headset sits just above the opening side window. On numerous occasions; the velcro loop has come loose and the headset dangles down in front of the window. This allows the cord to either get caught in the window frame during closing and/or could easily interfere with side window egress in an emergency situation. Great idea to provide headsets right at the jack location; but unsafe execution. Someone is going to get hurt in the unlikely event of a window egress.
