Narrative:
During taxi; runway was changed twice necessitating reprogramming of departure runway from west to east then back to west. I was aware of the recent notice to re-check the departure point if the runway was changed. We checked the points on the first page and everything looked good out to slott on the legs page. Departure was normal until we got just past slott intersection when the controller asked if we were cleared direct to tcc. When we checked the legs page; we were proceeding direct to slott. The waypoints immediately after slott; owing; and gth had dropped when we reprogrammed the FMS. The controller cleared us direct to tcc and the flight proceeded normally. We should have rechked the entire route following reprogramming the runway. It was my understanding that we were checking that the points immediately following takeoff were appropriate for the runway assigned. I allowed myself to be rushed and didn't take adequate time to rechk the entire route. In the future; I need to ensure that I do take the time to check the entire route.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MD80 FLT CREW RPT THE LOSS OF TRANSITION WAYPOINTS WHEN THE DEP RWY WAS CHANGED FROM THAT ORIGINALLY PROGRAMMED FOR THE DFW RNAV SID.
Narrative: DURING TAXI; RWY WAS CHANGED TWICE NECESSITATING REPROGRAMMING OF DEP RWY FROM W TO E THEN BACK TO W. I WAS AWARE OF THE RECENT NOTICE TO RE-CHK THE DEP POINT IF THE RWY WAS CHANGED. WE CHKED THE POINTS ON THE FIRST PAGE AND EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD OUT TO SLOTT ON THE LEGS PAGE. DEP WAS NORMAL UNTIL WE GOT JUST PAST SLOTT INTXN WHEN THE CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE CLRED DIRECT TO TCC. WHEN WE CHKED THE LEGS PAGE; WE WERE PROCEEDING DIRECT TO SLOTT. THE WAYPOINTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER SLOTT; OWING; AND GTH HAD DROPPED WHEN WE REPROGRAMMED THE FMS. THE CTLR CLRED US DIRECT TO TCC AND THE FLT PROCEEDED NORMALLY. WE SHOULD HAVE RECHKED THE ENTIRE RTE FOLLOWING REPROGRAMMING THE RWY. IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT WE WERE CHKING THAT THE POINTS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING TKOF WERE APPROPRIATE FOR THE RWY ASSIGNED. I ALLOWED MYSELF TO BE RUSHED AND DIDN'T TAKE ADEQUATE TIME TO RECHK THE ENTIRE RTE. IN THE FUTURE; I NEED TO ENSURE THAT I DO TAKE THE TIME TO CHK THE ENTIRE RTE.
