Narrative:
In regards to MEL 21-28 issued on aircraft. I received a call from lead technician coordinator requesting MEL 21-28 for a 'cabin temperature indication inoperative.' I asked maintenance if the problem was the 'cabin temperature indication inoperative' and maintenance concurred. I asked maintenance operations controller for a confirmation check on this MEL; and when he asked me for information about the MEL; I relayed to him the same information that I received from maintenance. This was a perfectly legal MEL with the information that I received from the maintenance lead technician. I was never informed of the duct temperature indication portion of the gauge being inoperative as well. My suggestion will begin with an MEL revision in this particular MEL 21-28; in the remarks portion of the MEL we should add the statement 'do not apply to duct temperature function of dual indicator.' supplemental information from acn 676010: in some cases; it would be beneficial if maintenance operations coordinator could speak directly with the mechanic that is putting his name in the logbook -- that way; questions could be asked.
