Passenger alerted me; by ringing call light; that wall panel at his window exit seat was extraordinarily warm. It was. I called captain. He called maintenance controller. It was noticed slight discoloration; orange; in area hot. Another flight attendant smelled a burning smell. We diverted to ZZZ1; were told it was duct around exit that overheated. It was deactivated. We continued to ZZZ.
