Narrative:
Post flight inspection of aircraft from flight from ZZZ to ZZZ1 revealed that part of our engine cowl on the #2 engine was missing. The cowl part was clearly visible and intact during the preflight in ZZZ; so it must have become detached during the flight to ZZZ1. There were no indications or abnormalities evident to the flight crew during the flight. The missing cowl part was apparently found near the runway in ZZZ; indicating that it probably became detached during the takeoff roll. No one was injured and no other damage was evident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the preflight check revealed no unlocked latches or opening or gap between the upper and lower cowling. The airplane performed normal in every respect and when taxiing into the gate at the arrival station; they were greeted by company photographers. The reporter stated that on the post flight check; the lower cowl door was missing and was reported found on the departure station runway. The logbook was clean with no maintenance signoffs and no indication of overnight maintenance.

Title: A CRJ200; ON POST FLT CHK; DISCOVERED THE #2 ENG LOWER COWL DOOR HAD DEPARTED THE ACFT; WHICH WAS FOUND ON DEP STATION RWY.
Narrative: POST FLT INSPECTION OF ACFT FROM FLT FROM ZZZ TO ZZZ1 REVEALED THAT PART OF OUR ENG COWL ON THE #2 ENG WAS MISSING. THE COWL PART WAS CLEARLY VISIBLE AND INTACT DURING THE PREFLT IN ZZZ; SO IT MUST HAVE BECOME DETACHED DURING THE FLT TO ZZZ1. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OR ABNORMALITIES EVIDENT TO THE FLT CREW DURING THE FLT. THE MISSING COWL PART WAS APPARENTLY FOUND NEAR THE RWY IN ZZZ; INDICATING THAT IT PROBABLY BECAME DETACHED DURING THE TKOF ROLL. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS EVIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THE PREFLT CHK REVEALED NO UNLOCKED LATCHES OR OPENING OR GAP BETWEEN THE UPPER AND LOWER COWLING. THE AIRPLANE PERFORMED NORMAL IN EVERY RESPECT AND WHEN TAXIING INTO THE GATE AT THE ARR STATION; THEY WERE GREETED BY COMPANY PHOTOGRAPHERS. THE RPTR STATED THAT ON THE POST FLT CHK; THE LOWER COWL DOOR WAS MISSING AND WAS RPTED FOUND ON THE DEP STATION RWY. THE LOGBOOK WAS CLEAN WITH NO MAINT SIGNOFFS AND NO INDICATION OF OVERNIGHT MAINT.
