Narrative:

I was giving instruction at our most difficult sector. Heavy traffic and complexity resulted in 3 simultaneous situations requiring close attention. I missed an assigned altitude given by student and student failed to update the data block to reflect the new altitude; student was falling behind on all computer inputs. I took control when I noticed 2 at same altitude on converging tracks. I should have taken the sector earlier. The student was giving multiple altitude assignments trying to find one that would work. I wanted him to work his way through it and may have let him go too far.
