Narrative:

Shortly after leveloff at FL320; the right engine failed. We declared an emergency; ran appropriate checklists; and returned to land; landing uneventfully. Crash fire rescue equipment checked the aircraft on the taxiway after landing and we taxied to the gate. Aircraft was landed overweight. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated on leveloff at FL320 the engine just failed with no noise or vibration and the only noted indication was the egt indication was pegged high. The component or section of the engine that failed is unknown.

Narrative: SHORTLY AFTER LEVELOFF AT FL320; THE R ENG FAILED. WE DECLARED AN EMER; RAN APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS; AND RETURNED TO LAND; LNDG UNEVENTFULLY. CFR CHKED THE ACFT ON THE TXWY AFTER LNDG AND WE TAXIED TO THE GATE. ACFT WAS LANDED OVERWT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED ON LEVELOFF AT FL320 THE ENG JUST FAILED WITH NO NOISE OR VIBRATION AND THE ONLY NOTED INDICATION WAS THE EGT INDICATION WAS PEGGED HIGH. THE COMPONENT OR SECTION OF THE ENG THAT FAILED IS UNKNOWN.
