Narrative:
Cleared for and shooting runway 13 circle-to-land runway 31 (gls) IFR ILS/localizer 13 approach in IMC with haze. Runway lights runway 31 on bright. Runway lights runway 35 very low and no controls in effect. While shooting the approach; the alternator cuts out and circuit breaker (60 amp) for alternator pops. Passenger gets scared; I turn off landing lights; pitot; strobes; storm scope as circling on approach in turbulence. Push circuit breaker in over 6 times and it keeps popping out. Apparently the tower told me to land on runway 35. I apparently did not hear that or got confused dealing with the circuit breaker and scared passenger. I landed on runway 31. I was told I was told to land on runway 35 by tower. Later; found short in wiring by mechanic and parts to prevent were available from cessna and fixed.

Narrative: CLRED FOR AND SHOOTING RWY 13 CIRCLE-TO-LAND RWY 31 (GLS) IFR ILS/LOC 13 APCH IN IMC WITH HAZE. RWY LIGHTS RWY 31 ON BRIGHT. RWY LIGHTS RWY 35 VERY LOW AND NO CTLS IN EFFECT. WHILE SHOOTING THE APCH; THE ALTERNATOR CUTS OUT AND CIRCUIT BREAKER (60 AMP) FOR ALTERNATOR POPS. PAX GETS SCARED; I TURN OFF LNDG LIGHTS; PITOT; STROBES; STORM SCOPE AS CIRCLING ON APCH IN TURB. PUSH CIRCUIT BREAKER IN OVER 6 TIMES AND IT KEEPS POPPING OUT. APPARENTLY THE TWR TOLD ME TO LAND ON RWY 35. I APPARENTLY DID NOT HEAR THAT OR GOT CONFUSED DEALING WITH THE CIRCUIT BREAKER AND SCARED PAX. I LANDED ON RWY 31. I WAS TOLD I WAS TOLD TO LAND ON RWY 35 BY TWR. LATER; FOUND SHORT IN WIRING BY MECH AND PARTS TO PREVENT WERE AVAILABLE FROM CESSNA AND FIXED.
