Narrative:
It was brought to my attention that in the process of making the md escape slide lanyards svcable; besides replacing the worn cable; the pins were also being changed out using a drawing which pertains to the latch block for the fleet; rather than the one which is for the lanyard used on the md fleet. The boeing fleet uses spiral pins and the md fleet uses solid pins. Both assemblies fit and function the same with same demands made upon them. The terms used to identify these parts are different but their looks are similar and the object of their existence is the same. It was an oversight on my part; not checking the reference material being used to perform the work.
