Narrative:
After landing on runway 8 at bur; I was instructed by tower to turn off; left on the taxiway after the runway intersection. After clearing the runway; tower gave instructions to do a 180 degree turn to taxi back and hold short of runway 8. I misunderstood the tower's instructions and thought I could cross the runway in front of me after the 180 degree turnaround. I saw a king air on an estimated 2 mi final for runway 8 so I crossed the runway; believing I had clearance. The tower sent the king air around just as I cleared runway 8. The tower then informed me that they had wanted me to hold short of the runway I had just crossed. Contributing factors: poor CRM by me; traffic congestion on the ground at bur and in the air. Human performance considerations: there was a perception by me for a need to expedite my taxi in order to help relieve the traffic congestion at bur.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 8 AT BUR; I WAS INSTRUCTED BY TWR TO TURN OFF; L ON THE TXWY AFTER THE RWY INTXN. AFTER CLRING THE RWY; TWR GAVE INSTRUCTIONS TO DO A 180 DEG TURN TO TAXI BACK AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 8. HUMAN PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS: THERE WAS A PERCEPTION BY ME FOR A NEED TO EXPEDITE MY TAXI IN ORDER TO HELP RELIEVE THE TFC CONGESTION AT BUR.
