Primary Problem | Maintenance Human Performance |
Narrative:
After being pushed from the gate and final safety checks being performed; flight attendant XXXX sat down in his jumpseat position and the jumpseat came off the wall. Maintenance put tape over the jumpseat so it would not be used. The jumpseat had the tape over it for 3 segments. Concerns include: 1) the number of segments flight attendants did not have jumpseat protection. 2) preflight safety check does not include actually sitting down and testing jumpseat. 3) no communication or direction from onboard supervisor as to where to situation or what additional safety duties might be included with sitting in a passenger seat.
