Narrative:
I flew an aircraft that had 2 deferrals in logbook. First deferral was a flap track fairing missing; and the second deferral was an in-flight braking inoperative (braking action is applied to wheels while gear is retracting). Apparently; these 2 deferrals together are considered an illegal confign for flight. Company cdl or MEL books did not reference this illegal confign; so I did not know of the problem. Flight standards e-mail'ed me that maintenance found this problem after 2 flts. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the maintenance release had only the deferred brake and the flap fairing removed or missing with no special limits. The items were entered in the performance computer with no restrs and nothing would indicate this situation was in violation. Reporter stated the company is now revising the manuals to show this restr.

Title: AN A310-300 WAS OPERATED FOR 2 SEGMENTS BEFORE THE CREW WAS ADVISED THE FLTS WERE IN VIOLATION. COMBINATION OF FLAP FAIRING MISSING AND 1 BRAKE INOP MADE OP ILLEGAL. NO REF IN MEL OR CDL.
Narrative: I FLEW AN ACFT THAT HAD 2 DEFERRALS IN LOGBOOK. FIRST DEFERRAL WAS A FLAP TRACK FAIRING MISSING; AND THE SECOND DEFERRAL WAS AN INFLT BRAKING INOP (BRAKING ACTION IS APPLIED TO WHEELS WHILE GEAR IS RETRACTING). APPARENTLY; THESE 2 DEFERRALS TOGETHER ARE CONSIDERED AN ILLEGAL CONFIGN FOR FLT. COMPANY CDL OR MEL BOOKS DID NOT REF THIS ILLEGAL CONFIGN; SO I DID NOT KNOW OF THE PROB. FLT STANDARDS E-MAIL'ED ME THAT MAINT FOUND THIS PROB AFTER 2 FLTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE MAINT RELEASE HAD ONLY THE DEFERRED BRAKE AND THE FLAP FAIRING REMOVED OR MISSING WITH NO SPECIAL LIMITS. THE ITEMS WERE ENTERED IN THE PERFORMANCE COMPUTER WITH NO RESTRS AND NOTHING WOULD INDICATE THIS SITUATION WAS IN VIOLATION. RPTR STATED THE COMPANY IS NOW REVISING THE MANUALS TO SHOW THIS RESTR.
