Narrative:
On climb out from dfw on the nobly departure; the aircraft deviated north of course about 15-20 miles. Apparently on loading the FMS; the departure was incorrectly loaded or on climb out it was changed. After nobly; the aircraft went direct to lit VOR as the two points before were deleted. On preflight only the first 3 or so points were checked for the RNAV departure. After we passed nobly; we failed to notice the rest of the departure was correctly in the FMS until center called and had us turn right 15 degrees.supplemental information from acn 684505: evidently the lit transition had not been selected by the captain when he programmed the FMC. I had checked the route before departure and it was accurate however I didn't get the chance to check the legs due to preflight activities distracting me.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B757-200 FLT CREW FAILS TO PROGRAM TRANSITION ON NOBLY RNAV SID FROM DFW.
Narrative: ON CLBOUT FROM DFW ON THE NOBLY DEP; THE ACFT DEVIATED N OF COURSE ABOUT 15-20 MILES. APPARENTLY ON LOADING THE FMS; THE DEP WAS INCORRECTLY LOADED OR ON CLB OUT IT WAS CHANGED. AFTER NOBLY; THE ACFT WENT DIRECT TO LIT VOR AS THE TWO POINTS BEFORE WERE DELETED. ON PREFLT ONLY THE FIRST 3 OR SO POINTS WERE CHKED FOR THE RNAV DEP. AFTER WE PASSED NOBLY; WE FAILED TO NOTICE THE REST OF THE DEP WAS CORRECTLY IN THE FMS UNTIL CTR CALLED AND HAD US TURN R 15 DEGS.SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 684505: EVIDENTLY THE LIT TRANSITION HAD NOT BEEN SELECTED BY THE CAPT WHEN HE PROGRAMMED THE FMC. I HAD CHKED THE RTE BEFORE DEP AND IT WAS ACCURATE HOWEVER I DIDN'T GET THE CHANCE TO CHK THE LEGS DUE TO PREFLT ACTIVITIES DISTRACTING ME.
