Narrative:
In the course of losing electrical cart power in ZZZ and starting APU; flight attendants noticed several aisle ceiling lights in the main cabin were out. By this time APU power was available and after troubleshooting we determined that several standby lights were out. We crew placarded the standby lights according to the MEL. After maintenance troubleshot the system further; informed us that 4 of the ceiling lights inoperative were the emergency lighting system on ceiling as well.
