Narrative:
I was assigned to ferry an MD80. We arrived at the aircraft and had an MEL for the forward airstair. We wrote up 2 additional items. Maintenance personnel were sitting in my seat xferring fuel from the center tank; after the plane had been towed. I stayed in the cabin until he left the flight deck. The flight attendants were on board; and the agent was ready to close the L-1 door. I then took my seat and accomplished the flight deck set-up and called for the before start checklist. All annunciator lights were normal (door open lights were out). Flight was uneventful. On the ground while doing my flows prior to departure we noted the L-1 door light was not illuminated when we knew the door was open. I called maintenance control to talk about the situation and they discovered that too many circuit breakers had been pulled and collared; thus disabling all door warning lights. The MEL stated the 8 circuit breakers were pulled and the proper number had been verified prior to departure. Maintenance spoke with maintenance control and it was decided to reset 2 circuit breakers (R-24 and 0b3). After this; we had normal indications of door position. Logbook corrective action verbiage ended stating 'no other system affected.'
