Narrative:
Taxiway west is very poorly marked when taxiing from the north to enter gates over spots 9 or 11. We missed the taxiway by following the signs and the lights for the turn into taxiway west from north. We stopped as soon as we realized the mistake and got cleared by ramp to proceed to spot 10. This taxi turn is like finding a channel in a boat at night and keeping a marker on your left as you head south. There is still a red hazard marker between ramp and taxiway west. This needs fixing sooner.
