Narrative:
We departed ege on an IFR flight plan under visual conditions. As I recall; a previous controller had cleared us to FL330. At approximately XX55; talking to a second ZDV controller and climbing out of FL260; we received an RA indicating a stop climb message. An air carrier Y flight was on the same frequency stating that he was stopping a descent due to an RA advisory. Following our RA; I had reached FL270 and initiated a descent to FL265. At about that time denver issued a clearance for us to maintain FL270. After the RA commanded descent; we climbed to and leveled at FL270. As best I could tell; we were never closer than 1000 ft to the air carrier Y flight; but between air carrier Y; the center controller; and the TCAS all making noise at the same time; there was some confusion. After the event; we were again cleared to climb and no further mention of the event was made by ZDV.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A CPR JET CLBING THROUGH FL260 RECEIVED A TCAS RA TO STOP CLB WHILE HEARING AN ACR ACFT ON THE SAME FREQ STATING THEY WERE STOPPING THEIR DSCNT DUE TO AN RA ADVISORY. THE CTLR THEN RESTR THE CPR JET TO FL270.
Narrative: WE DEPARTED EGE ON AN IFR FLT PLAN UNDER VISUAL CONDITIONS. AS I RECALL; A PREVIOUS CTLR HAD CLRED US TO FL330. AT APPROX XX55; TALKING TO A SECOND ZDV CTLR AND CLBING OUT OF FL260; WE RECEIVED AN RA INDICATING A STOP CLB MESSAGE. AN ACR Y FLT WAS ON THE SAME FREQ STATING THAT HE WAS STOPPING A DSCNT DUE TO AN RA ADVISORY. FOLLOWING OUR RA; I HAD REACHED FL270 AND INITIATED A DSCNT TO FL265. AT ABOUT THAT TIME DENVER ISSUED A CLRNC FOR US TO MAINTAIN FL270. AFTER THE RA COMMANDED DSCNT; WE CLBED TO AND LEVELED AT FL270. AS BEST I COULD TELL; WE WERE NEVER CLOSER THAN 1000 FT TO THE ACR Y FLT; BUT BTWN ACR Y; THE CTR CTLR; AND THE TCAS ALL MAKING NOISE AT THE SAME TIME; THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION. AFTER THE EVENT; WE WERE AGAIN CLRED TO CLB AND NO FURTHER MENTION OF THE EVENT WAS MADE BY ZDV.
