Narrative:
Cleared for takeoff runway 22 in mlu, climbing runway heading cleared to 3000 ft. A commuter turboprop was on final for runway 04. Immediately after takeoff, the turboprop checked in on tower frequency. Tower commanded a turn for both aircraft. Both aircraft had visuals and easily maneuvered clear of conflict. Communication breakdown between approach and tower. No TA/RA was ever received.

Title: MD88 TKOF RWY 22 CLBING RWY HEADING TO 3000 FT, COMMUTER ACFT RPTS ON FREQ ON FINAL RWY 04 AND TWR CTLR TURNS BOTH ACFT FOR SEPARATION. MD88 DID NOT GET TCASII TA OR RA ON THE COMMUTER AND BOTH ACFT HAD VISUAL SIGHTING OF EACH OTHER.
Narrative: CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 22 IN MLU, CLBING RWY HDG CLRED TO 3000 FT. A COMMUTER TURBOPROP WAS ON FINAL FOR RWY 04. IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF, THE TURBOPROP CHKED IN ON TWR FREQ. TWR COMMANDED A TURN FOR BOTH ACFT. BOTH ACFT HAD VISUALS AND EASILY MANEUVERED CLR OF CONFLICT. COM BREAKDOWN BTWN APCH AND TWR. NO TA/RA WAS EVER RECEIVED.
