Narrative:
On climb out on the sjc 9 departure we got an RA at approximately 17500 ft to FL180. We complied with the RA and notified ATC. They didn't know about the cessna conquest at our altitude. We estimate distance within 1 mi and vertical separation was 300 ft. We contacted our ATC specialist and he followed up with us immediately. Apparently norcal control apologized for the incident and took the blame for it.
