Narrative:
I was working a sector by myself with approximately 9 aircraft on frequency. 5 aircraft were crossing over pmd. FL190; FL200; FL210; FL220; and FL230 were occupied. I intended to climb an aircraft which had just cleared traffic (air carrier Y and inadvertently used the wrong call sign. Aircraft X read back the clearance and climbed to FL220 3.5 mi off his left side.
