Narrative:
Cherokee landing runway 9R at pbi was asked by local control if he was lined up for runway 9R; and the pilot responded with affirmative. When the aircraft got closer; local control again questioned him because he appeared to be lined up with runway 9L. This time the pilot responded he was lined up with taxiway left and went around. FYI. The airport painted taxiway on this taxiway in 3 separate places in large letters about 1 month ago.

Narrative: CHEROKEE LNDG RWY 9R AT PBI WAS ASKED BY LCL CTL IF HE WAS LINED UP FOR RWY 9R; AND THE PLT RESPONDED WITH AFFIRMATIVE. WHEN THE ACFT GOT CLOSER; LCL CTL AGAIN QUESTIONED HIM BECAUSE HE APPEARED TO BE LINED UP WITH RWY 9L. THIS TIME THE PLT RESPONDED HE WAS LINED UP WITH TXWY L AND WENT AROUND. FYI. THE ARPT PAINTED TXWY ON THIS TXWY IN 3 SEPARATE PLACES IN LARGE LETTERS ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO.
