Narrative:
Landing for training in piper J3 (tailwheel). Student was high and corrected. Undershot GS and extended approach using power (was low and slow). Reduced power and dropped to runway. Did not correct for slight left to right crosswind and started to veer to left. I was slow to correct and aircraft went off runway on grass. I recovered and brought aircraft onto taxiway. No damage to aircraft. Contacted tower and informed operator of the event. Tower supervisor inspected runway; runway lights and taxiway lights. No damage. I should have terminated approach when student got low and slow. I also could have anticipated the turn to left and intervened sooner to prevent the turn.
