Narrative:
My air carrier is in the process of dumping company X approach plates for company Y charts. Company Y chart system is nice in many ways. I have been using them now for 2 weeks. The way that company Y communicates information can be unclr though. My concern though is with my employer. I submitted a suggestion for a change to the dtw palace 2 departure. My air carrier wrote me back saying the chart was accurate and that we all need to get used to them. So; I talked one-on-one with a company Y expert. I had him read the chart. He said 'I think it means....' I said 'is thinking what it means good enough? I want certainty.' he responded with 'if you are unsure; you can always ask ATC.' 'get used to it;' I think it says;' 'ask ATC.' is the attitude my air carrier has to propagate in order to make them new charts acceptably safe? I am appalled and am putting this on record so that if a future accident or violation results from a misinterp of an unclr company Y chart; then a court of law may be fully aware of issues at hand.
