Narrative:
During arrival to ZZZ1 we had pulled up the paperwork for the next leg and noticed that we had a different aircraft; but we thought we were supposed to keep the airplane that we were currently flying. Upon arrival at ZZZ1; we were informed by the gate agent that we had a plane change due to the fact that our airplane; as he put it; 'I heard your airplane was broken.' after inquiring as to what was wrong with the airplane we were told that during the previous night a control actuator was replaced but the aircraft was never test flown afterwards. When we reviewed the paperwork at ZZZ2 operations in the morning; we had never seen anything on the paperwork or maintenance release document to indicate that anything had been done to the aircraft the night before we flew it.
