Narrative:
While working as a lead technician; 2 amt's working with me were replacing a spoiler rotatable variable differential transducer (position sensor). I look to see if this was an rii. It was not; and I informed the amt's that it was not. The next night at work I realized I had looked up a slat spoiler rotatable variable differential transducer; not spoiler. The spoiler rotatable variable differential transducer is an rii. Immediately; maintenance control center was notified and the aircraft was stopped at its next destination and the spoiler rotatable variable differential transducer was inspected by a qualified rii inspector.
