Narrative:

During preflight safety checks door 4L slide pressure indicate at 2200 psi 'needle in red cursor.' maintenance was called after reviewing the slide gauge. They then advised slide was ok to go. However; base on flight attendant manual with needle over green cursor indicate acceptable pressure. I explained to maintenance this slide is not acceptable and maintenance was still trying to tell me slide is ok 'the gauge will go back to the green cursor after an hour.' this is the second door this month with the same problem and maintenance is still telling door is fine. As a result I finally got maintenance to deferred this door and passenger moved.
